Sincerely, John Hughes.

So John Hughes passed away yesterday, the creator of some of the great childhood films of a generation (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Home Alone, The Breakfast Club etc). I can’t help but be hit with a wave of nostalgia and a craving to watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off again. There have been a few things resurfacing on the internet in memory of Mr. Hughes, as I don’t have too much to say on the man i’ll let them do the talking.

Here’s something that was posted today. From a pen pal of John Hughes’, it definitely shows a more intimate side of him. He moved away from Hollywood and was troubled by the impact of the whole scene on his children’s perspectives on life. The revealing of his concerns makes me appreciate his work to a greater extent, it allows me to see that he was creating for reasons that didn’t revolve around money and fame, something that warrants respect.
